The sculpture tells the story of Matariki – the Pleiades star cluster – and the significance of the Waikato River. The work overlooks the Waikato River and stands 6.8-metres tall. The development of the interactive sculpture was led by Wintec tutor Joe Citizen. A soundtrack and interactive lighting responds to environmental, seasonal and lunar changes.
